Family Law

The Family Law attorneys at Rhoades McKee represent individuals in a variety of domestic relations matters, including pre-marital agreements, divorce and separation, child custody, child support modification, family financial planning, enforcement of court orders and agreements, and guardianships. Our representation covers the spectrum from the most complex and detailed cases to the relatively simple uncontested matters.

We routinely represent parties in matters requiring the valuation and division of business interests, real estate, stock options and other types of assets. Due to the nature of many of these cases, we work closely with accountants, valuation experts, tax attorneys, and financial planners to ensure that our clients’ overall needs are met.

Our attorneys frequently lecture on family law topics, and bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our clients. Tom Saxe has served as Chair of the Grand Rapids Bar Association Family Law Section and Connie Thacker serves on the board of the Michigan State Bar Family Law Council.

Our family law clients benefit from the breadth of experience and areas of expertise possessed by the attorneys throughout the firm. A family law case may have overlapping issues concerning real estate, businesses, pensions, bankruptcy, or other tax and estate planning matters. Our family law attorneys routinely consult with our practitioners in these other practice groups to insure that our clients receive quality and experienced representation in all facets of their case.

Just as important as our legal skills and knowledge, our attorneys understand the personal nature involved in each family law case and the substantial changes occurring in the lives of our clients and their families. As we work to obtain the best results for our clients, we remain sensitive to the needs of all family members involved.
