Connie R. Thacker
Connie R. Thacker is an equity shareholder
with the law firm of Rhoades McKee in Grand Rapids. Connie previously served on the Firm’s Executive Committee as the Vice
President of Marketing. Connie concentrates her practice
in the areas of family law and estate planning for traditional
and non-traditional families. She is a past officer and
current member of the Grand Rapids Bar Family Law Section.
She is an elected Council Member of the State Bar of
Michigan Family Law Section and is the current Chair
of the Alternative Family Committee and the Domestic Violence Committee.
Connie is a member
of the American Bar Association Family Law Section and
a member of the American Bar Association Alternative
Family Committee. She is a member of the ICLE Family
Law Advisory Board, the Michigan Council for Family and
Divorce Mediation, a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation, and a previous Officer and previous member of the
Grand Rapids Inns of Court. Connie is a trained and certified
mediator of family law cases and is certified in domestic
violence screening protocol.
She is a graduate, cum laude,
from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School where she served
on the Law Review as an assistant editor, the Chair of the Scholastic
Review Board, and was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence
Award in Trial Advocacy, Moot Court, Business Planning
and Corporations. She received her undergraduate degree
in Jurisprudence from the University of Baltimore.
She
is licensed to practice law in Michigan, Maryland, District
of Columbia, and Colorado. She has published and lectured
in the areas of Family Law and Estate Planning.
