Jim’s practice is focused on real estate, commercial litigation and family law. He has significant experience in the litigation of matters relating to real estate, including defense of broker and salesperson liability claims, contract and construction disputes, boundary and easement disputes, and adverse possession claims. In 2006, Jim obtained what is believed to be the largest verdict in the history of Allegan County for his client in a real estate matter.
In the family law arena, Jim has successfully negotiated and litigated complex divorces involving the valuation and division of real estate and business interests.
Jim is an aficionado of the arts and architecture. He serves as President of the Board of Directors of Community Circle Theatre, and assisted the Grand Rapids Art Museum with its exciting new expansion in downtown.
