Jon T. Ferrier

Jon worked as a Circuit Court Referee in the Family Division for 25 years before retiring from the Court and joining Rhoades McKee. In the course of his career, Jon was elected President of the Referees Association of Michigan and Chairperson of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, and he was named an honorary Lifetime Member of the Friend of the Court Association.

Jon created the Domestic Relations Education Program series in Kent County for the public, bench and bar to provide needed information for those involved in domestic relations family law cases, and he has been involved in educational programming for the public and lawyers through the State Bar, the Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the Michigan Judicial Institute and many other organizations. He serves on several Bar committees, and is a board member of the Legal Assistance Center at the Kent County Courthouse.

In 2006, Jon was honored as a Champion of Justice by the State Bar of Michigan, one of the Bar's highest awards. He continues to be actively involved in the effort to improve the laws and court rules governing Family Law.
